Donate for Giving Tuesday 2025 image

With your support on Giving Tuesday, we will expand our reach and ensure that even more students have access to the essential lessons of the Holocaust.

The Butterfly Project recognizes its responsibility to help young people across the country and around the world understand the Holocaust in ways that are personal, meaningful, and long-lasting.

Through our programming, we have the opportunity to teach thousands of young people about the human cost of hate, prejudice, and, ultimately, dehumanization.

We are excited to share that, thanks to the generosity of two donors, all gifts made between today, November 25th, and Giving Tuesday, December 2nd, will be matched 1:1. For every dollar you give, our matching donors will double your impact, up to $30,000.

Today, children are growing up in a world where dehumanizing language and behavior are visible and normalized. Many youth encounter confusion, fear, and division in their schools and communities. Holocaust education, when offered with thoughtful context, gives them a framework to understand these dynamics and to think about the kind of world they want to help create.

A core part of our work is the painting and installation of ceramic butterflies, each one in memory of a child killed in the Holocaust. These installations remain in schools and communities as a permanent reminder that every life has value, and that memory is a form of responsibility. Long after a single lesson ends, the butterflies remain as quiet witnesses, calling us back to the importance of self-reflection and social responsibility.

We never want to turn anyone away from these vital lessons and tools for teaching accurate history and setting the context for today’s issues.
